Ring! Ring!! Ring!!! Your doorbell rings, and you are wondering who is at your door. Well, this was the case some few years ago. Nowadays, smart ring doorbells have brought innovations that will make our homes smarter and also revolutionize our home security system.
Thanks to their video capabilities, smart doorbells allow you to determine who enters your house and does not gain access. The safety of your home becomes easier to monitor from anywhere that you are. Smart ring doorbells camera can be synchronized with your mobile devices, giving you the capability to monitor your home from anywhere and at any time.

No longer will strangers and possibly dangerous individuals gain access to your home without your “say so”. Also, some of these superb smart ring doorbells can be connected to other smart home devices such as Google home Alexa, and Wave.

We know that you are concerned about the security of your home. That is why we have taken the pain to come up with a list of smart ring doorbells that are topping the charts in 2017.

It’s a smart doorbell that does more than just alerting you of someone’s presence.

To begin with, it can fit on most surfaces and guarantee you a field view of 180 degrees. With it, you can clearly enjoy a two-way conversation, record and send video clips to the cloud storage. Moreover, it’s fitted with a powerful rechargeable battery to last a year after one complete charging hence minimum power failures.

This ring video door bell ensures that you can monitor the front part of your house from anywhere that you are just as though you are at home at all times. It is fortified with an impeccable HD video and a two-way talk system which allows you to see, hear and speak to anyone on your property through your mobile smartphone, tablets and computer system.

Ring smart doorbells have motion alerts, weather resistance, and an infrared night vision system. With this system, you can monitor your property around the clock without obstruction. Although the ring video system allows you to monitor the front part of your home and to answer the door from anywhere, stick up cameras give more options. Attaching stickup cameras to the side of your house gives you a total control over your property since you already have the front part covered.

Does this door bell have an indoor chime also? What if Im home and my phone is not on?
It has only an outdoor bell which you may or may not hear from inside. however, all you need to do is connect the 2 terminals of your current doorbell button to the Ring device and it will ring your current indoor bell as well. If you have one.
Can I access multiple doorbells from a single smartphone?
Yes, they’ll each have an icon and a name so you can tell them apart within the app.
Is this unit secure? Meaning is it hard to unhook and steal? Wouldn't want to spend $200 and have someone take it.
It has standard TORX screw, I do not remember size but anyone can buy screwdriver for this. All scredriver kits for mobile phones has that type of srewdriver.
Also the warranty if Ring is stolen is one ONE TIME warranty and you have to send them papers from police (so you need to call police too). They can disable the Ring when it’s stolen so the thief won’t be able to use it.
How many smartphones can access the Ring? Is it only synced up to one phone?
You can link it to multiple cell phones – I created a primary “master” account for my phone (which can configure Ring), and created a second account which I set up on my wife’s phone and invited as a guest to my master account (meaning the guest can’t change settings on the doorbell). It’s really quite easy to do from the app.

BOTTOM LINE

EDITORS CHOICE
  • From its clear wide-angle view the fact that you can answer your door from anywhere and the easy installation, make the Ring the clear choice.
  • There’s no wiring required for that meant that I could install anywhere because of its internal rechargeable battery.
  • I loved being able to choose from four different colors of what I think is the best designed and best-looking doorbell out there. The sleek modern design is very eye appealing.
  • It was no problem whatsoever hooking this up to my smart phone, notifications were fast and accurate. And for three dollars a month I don’t have a problem hooking up with their cloud storage.
  • The Ring is the choice for me.

Although most consumers complain of the difficulty in its installation, SkyBell HD video doorbell allows on-demand video features plus live feeds. Hence it will enable you to random check on your premise anytime you wish. Unlike ring, Skybell can withstand even extreme temperature fluctuations.

Very impressed with its performance and integration into the overall Alarm.com platform (e.g., event-triggered rules, notifications, automatic video recording, etc.). The phone alerts and live video that appear on your phone when someone rings the doorbell are helpful, especially in large homes. On top of that, it looks nice too, and the LED colors (default is green) can be changed to any possible color and brightness level right from the Alarm.com website of the phone application.

Because the Wi-Fi Doorbell Camera is fully integrated with Alarm.com, you can do all of this right from your Alarm.com app. Requirements: Power: Power: 8-36VAC, 10VA or 12VDC, 0.5 to 1.0A wired to in-home mechanical chime. Digital doorbell chime compatibility requires SkyBell Digital Doorbell Adapter – not included. Wi-Fi: Compatible with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 2.4 GHz up to 150 Mbps.

2. Zmodo Greet Wi-Fi Video Doorbell with Wi-Fi Extender and Zmodo Beam Home Hub

Zmodo smart door bell connects through Wi-Fi with other smart systems in your home, allowing you to check who is at the door through your smartphones and related devices. The Zmodo device has a beam extender which also acts as a smart hub ensuring that your Zmodo Greet device is never offline.

Through the 2-way talk system, the Greet device allows you to send messages to visitors, delivery men, etc, without you having to open the door for them. Just like most modern smart ring door bell devices, the Zmodo Greet has online alerts and motion detectors that ensure that you can monitor the security of your home from anywhere.

Its enhanced night vision system and high sensitivity are very useful at night and in dim light. You can still have clear images displayed on your smart devices even though it is night time. The “set voice message” feature on your Zmodo device allows you to set recorded messages for visitors when you are not home or when you are not available to answer the call.

The Zmodo package consists of a quick guide, the Zmodo video door bell devices, Beam extender and smart hub. The Zmodo app and a password protected 2.4GHz Wi-Fi system is needed in order to install the system. Its Beam extender and the smart doorbell are easy to install if the guide is followed accordingly. This Wi-Fi system and beam extender allow you to connect with other smart devices in your home such as Wave, and Google home.

Does this door bell have an indoor chime also? What if Im home and my phone is not on?
Yes, it chimes in the house also.
Can I add this to existing wired video doorbell system? Has anyone opened it up to gain access to the push button?
Yes, that’s what I did works fine red to positive and black to negative.
What is a name for the android app this doorbell works with?
Zmodo’s app is made for both iPhone and android, however, there are multiple apps that run the Zmodo greet, and other WIFI video doorbells, cameras, lights, etc. by other manufacturers.
What if you don't have a doorbell will it still work, and does it work?
You need what’s called ‘doorbell voltage’, about 25 VAC (not house power) at the location where you’ll use it.
Also, if you don’t have a ‘real doorbell’, you’ll have to put a resistor in the line.
It seems kind of complicated.
You might consider using a cheap wireless doorbell, and one of the other wireless cameras that Zmodo offers.

3. Schlage Z-Wave Connect Camelot Touchscreen Deadbolt with Built-In Alarm, Works with Amazon Alexa via SmartThings or Wink, Aged Bronze, BE469 CAM 716

Finding one item that does multiple things is not as easy as one would think. You can get a doorbell, you can get a video surveillance system or one that does both. You can get a porch light and or surveillance system, or one that does both. Or in this case, a door lock that has a video surveillance system, all that’s missing is the doorbell. But this item does two things very well.

You have a keyless, entry lock that means you no longer have keys to lose, hide, or forget about. Plus this system gives you advanced remote management capabilities and works with your home monitoring systems — letting you run your home from anywhere.

Schlage Connect is truly a lock for the connected age. It is a grade 1 certified lock which is the highest residential lock. It works well and it works every time. Plus the system alerts you to activity at your door with three levels of security. You can set your alert for activity at the door, or somebody is tampering with the door, or somebody is trying to force their way in. You can quickly cycle between the three settings by simply pressing a button on the lock.

You get home access from anywhere, it has built-in alarm technology, carries the highest residential security rating and has an illuminated fingerprint-resistant touchscreen.

The Schlage Connect is Z-Wave compatible, which means it’ll work with most Z-Wave systems.

I think this is the system I am going to get, and then buy a cheap thirty dollar wireless doorbell.

It also comes in different colors and finishes.

Anyone know of other z-wave controllers that work with this? I see this comment in the description area: *If you plan to use this product with Z-wave controllers, please contact that provider for compatibility
I am successfully using this with SmartThings. Super easy to install on door and connect to hub.
Has anyone used this with the Wink Hub? What features are available with Wink?
I have used it with the wink hub (bought both in April 2016). I love it! I can add/delete codes for individuals, and I create those codes. I can lock and unlock the door remotely. I can add a feature that alters me about what code was used and when, when the door opens and closes, when the battery is low, so on and so forth. I’m sure there are other features but those are the ones I use. I haven’t had any problems what so ever, I’ve been using for about four months.
Can you reset the entry code remotely? Or do you have to be physically present at the lock to reset?
To reset remotely you have to set it up with your wifi.
If i buy this , will i be able to use it as it is or do i need more parts to use it ? and is there monthly fee to use this ?
If you want to use the ZWave connection, you will need a home automation hub. If you just want to use the keypad and the alarm feature, you don’t need anything else. It has a built in speaker.

4.  Maximus Smart home security- Outdoor Light and Camera

It does not work as a doorbell, but it does every other thing perfectly. Added to its wealth of features, it can connect with amazon’s Alexa. This connects and controls the kuna smart lights and security camera that the system possesses. You can interact with people outside your home through the camera system and also monitor activities going on.
The Maximus smart home security system has a live HD recording system and a two-way talking system with allows you to communicate with visitors. The HD live recording also has a 720p wide angle camera and a dependable two-way intercom system for communication.

The system is powered by batteries, therefore you can have the home security system round the clock. An optional subscription of $4.99 also lets you have a recording time of over 2 hours and download of events.
With an upgraded lighting system of this security system, you can trust it to send information of activities at your door and its surrounding both day and night.

Can you change the angle of the camera or does it only point straight?
Yes, you can change it, manually though. The range is pretty good. I have two set up on the front porch, manually adjusted them to cover “corner to corner” of my sidewalk.., with plenty of overlap.

This is great but what if you have more than one light on your door? Are matching lights available without the security feature?
Yes, ‘companion’ lights are available on the Amazon web page.

Can two people with two phones view the app at the same time for one camera? Does it alert both with motion?
Yep! We both get alerts and recordings of our front door.

Is the light LED or is it a screw in that you can use whatever you want?
We do recommend using a 60W equivalent LED bulb for best results, but Kuna will support any bulb up to 100W.

5. Remobell Wi-Fi Video Doorbell

The Remobell video Doorbell is quite expensive when compared to other security systems that are on our list. This is mainly because of the seemingly advanced features that it possesses. It has a wireless Wi-Fi system that makes this possible and also to synchronize with your mobile devices in order for you to communicate with visitors at your door. Yes you can! Whenever you receive a ring or motion detection, you can see your door from the app wherever you are (as long as you have internet connection from your phone).

How close does a heat source need to be to activate the video feed?
The motion sensor depends on different factors like weather, lighting, distance, speed of the motion, etc. However, RemoBell will pick up most motion within 20ft of the sensor, and it can also sense motion outside of this range.

Does this unit come with free cloud storage? if not, how much does the cloud storage cost? can i use it with cloud storage i already have or a dvr?
The unit comes with a 30-day free trial for cloud storage. After that we offer a $3 for 30 day unlimited video subscription. Sorry, at this time it will not work with your own cloud storage or DVR.

Does the bell ring at the door?
The RemoBell does make a ring sound whenever its button is pressed. You’ll also receive a push notification on your smartphone letting you know someone is at your door.
